Hailing from Holland, ALTAR, united by their disdain for Christianity and other religions, emerged as a potent force in the underground scene. Their legendary debut demo, "And God Created Satan to Blame for His Mistake," recorded in July 1992, quickly gained global recognition for its impeccable production and intense sound, selling over 15,00 copies in three years.
ALTAR's ferocious live performances solidified their reputation, catching the attention of record labels. Ultimately, Dutch label Displeased Records signed them, leading to the release of "Youth Against Christ" in 1994. This album garnered rave international reviews and sold over 10,000 copies. Displeased Records licensed it to Massacre Germany for the German market. ALTAR became the leading extreme music band in Holland, gracing numerous festivals and gaining substantial TV coverage.
