Detailed Description
High Roller Records, reissue 2022, slipcase, poster, CD 1: original version, mastered by Patrick W. Engel, CD 2: 2 remaster versions by David DeFeis.

Piledriver's debut album "Metal Inquisition," released in 1985 on Cobra Records, gained instant acclaim as a thrash metal masterpiece worldwide. Unbeknownst to the public, Piledriver, created by Cobra Records owner Zoran Busic, aimed to capitalize on the rising thrash metal trend. With Gordon Kirchin organizing the project and assuming lead vocals, the 1986 follow-up, "Stay Ugly," featured a completely different lineup under the guidance of Virgin Steele singer David DeFeis. Handling production and songwriting, DeFeis used pseudonyms "The Lion" and "Sal Gibson." The album, recorded in two days on Long Island, showcased a wild, over-the-top style inspired by horror stories and movies. Despite rumors and varied reactions, Piledriver and Exorcist, another project by DeFeis, were serious creative endeavors, exploring different musical styles and maintaining a sense of humor. The revelation about Piledriver's origins emerged in the mid-2000s, emphasizing the genuine and creative effort invested in these projects by DeFeis and his collaborators.
