Powerlord was one of those bands that seemingly appeared out of thin air and then gradually faded into obscurity. Among the rare gems of 80s US Metal, Powerlord stands out as one of the best in their league. They skillfully straddle the line between the likes of Savage Grace and Slayer. Their sound can be described as Speed/Thrash Metal, executed with remarkable professionalism and precision in songwriting. It's evident that the band members were perfectionists in their craft, and this album is a testament to their flawless songwriting. Although we were fortunate to remaster the album directly from the original master tapes, the memories associated with it were somewhat lost when High Vaultage Records, an obscure German label, attempted to reissue it. As a result, there's limited bonus material, band photos, or memorabilia that we could include in this package. However, the most crucial element remains intact—the music. The sound quality is astonishing, representing the epitome of what 80s Metal was all about. While their journey may have been obscured by the flood of Thrash Metal following the rise of Slayer and Metallica, Powerlord's talent and potential were undeniable. With a stroke of luck, they could have achieved greater recognition back then, but they ultimately fell through the cracks of obscurity.
