AT THE GATES - The Red In The Sky Is Ours (CD w/ Bonus Tracks)
Sweden | Melodic Death/Gothenburg
Detailed Description
At the Gates, formed in Gothenburg in 1990, quickly rose to prominence with their technical brutality and melodic ingenuity, releasing four highly influential studio albums before disbanding in 1996. Members went on to join notable acts like Cradle of Filth and The Haunted, before the band reunited in 2007 for successful global tours. Emerging from the ashes of Grotesque, At the Gates became one of the finest bands from the Swedish death metal scene.
Their debut album, 'The Red In The Sky Is Ours,' released in 1992 on Peaceville/Deaf, received widespread acclaim. The innovative use of violin alongside intensely brutal yet melodic sounds, with standout track 'Kingdom Gone,' set the album apart for its originality. 'The Red in the Sky is Ours' is a raw slab of extremity with intense aggression and intricate melodic arrangements, now considered a genre classic.
