In 2010 Wheel released their self-titled debut album to high acclaim from both fans and press. Their melancholic, traditional style was appreciated by followers of both contemporary Doom Metal acts as well as the old school faction favouring classic 80s material.
On their much anticipated sophomore album "Icarus" the band - while keeping the poetic style of their lyrics about death, dreams, love and loss - fine-tuned their songwriting and empasized their unique qualities without neglecting to pay tribute to those great bands that came before them.
Thus, fans of Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Saint Vitus, Solitude Aeturnus, Count Raven, Reverend Bizarre, Pentagram, Lamented Souls or Tristitia are encouraged to check out "Icarus" - in all probability one of this year's traditional Doom Metal highlights with which Wheel further consolidate their place in the upper ranks of Germany's Doom scene.
