In 2008, the definition of brutality was rewritten. Emerging from the sewers of Copenhagen’s underground, UNDERGANG rose with one goal: to crush, kill, and destroy everything in their path.
Forged by former hardcore punk veterans, the trio redirected their rage into a grotesque fusion of down-tuned sludge, gore-drenched grind, relentless blast beats, and the rotten core of old-school death metal. Their sound was—and remains—a lethal cocktail not meant for the faint of heart.
Drawing inspiration from the titans of the genre—Autopsy, Suffocation, Carcass, Death, and Morbid Angel—UNDERGANG carved out a sound of their own: thick as concrete, filthy as a corpse-strewn crypt, and unrelenting like a brick wall collapsing over and over again.
Their debut LP, Indhentet af Døden ("Caught by Death"), proved their intent without mercy. These recordings are as dark as a nightmare and as sharp as a rusted scalpel—designed to bleed your ears and shrink your soul. This is death metal in its rawest, most punishing form.
But UNDERGANG doesn’t stop at the studio. Their live rituals—unholy black masses of distortion and decay—have left crowds battered and converted. Reviewers were left scrambling for words:
“Without a doubt the best band of the evening.”
“Masterfully performed.”
“A fantastic band sure to set the world aflame.”
And the onslaught continues.
Torturdød (axe & guttural mutilation), Ondsind (bestial roar of the abyss), and Dødshjælp (pulse of death & desecration) march forward, spreading their diseased hymn to the downfall of a world too blind to see it coming.
So take this as your warning: start running—or prepare for slaughter. |
