Formed in 2011, SORDID FLESH swiftly released their debut demo in 2012 and secured a deal with Vic Records for their inaugural full-length. While rooted in old-school Swedish death metal, Sordid Flesh transcends the clichés of Grave, Dismember, or Entrails, carving out a distinctive style. The debut album, 'Torturer,' was meticulously recorded in a spacious concert hall to capture the raw energy of their live performances. Eschewing the modern trend of digitalized and over-compressed sound, Sordid Flesh embraces an organic, almost '70s and '80s aesthetic, offering a unique take on death metal as if it existed in those bygone eras.
'Torturer' manifests as an evil, gritty old-school Death Metal beast, infused with the essence of Thrash, Heavy, and Black Metal. The band's focus on live performances has led them to share stages with renowned acts such as Nifelheim, Insision, Nominon, Crucifyre, and Sorcery. Produced by Ola Steingrim Ersfjord, known for his work with Dread Sovereign, Vomitor, and Morbus Cron, and adorned with cover artwork by the talented Swedish artist Mikael Carlsson, Sordid Flesh's debut album stands as a testament to their commitment to authenticity and musical prowess. Notably, bass player Jacob also contributes to the cult Swedish death metal band Sorcery.
