While originally formed in 1991 and existing under a couple different monikers prior, Peru's SARAM didn't officially commence unholy life until 1998 with the release of the Sinners demo. The band would languish in inactivity until 2004, when the pivotal Metal Mayhem Genocide demo was released. Aptly titled, Metal Mayhem Genocide displayed SARAM as reinvigorators of oldest-wave black metal: truly, classic South American madness time-warped from 1985. The reconstituted lineup no doubt helped; both vocalist Neyra and guitarist Noizer were reaping their own renown with Goat Semen and Anal Vomit, respectively. A year later came the 7" EP Embrujo, but sadly, that would be the band’s final public recording.
Totaling nine songs across 30 minutes, the comp includes the entirety of Metal Mayhem Genocide, the A-side of Embrujo, and two exclusive rehearsal tracks from 2005 never before recorded in the studio. Forever "From the Pits of Lima Hell"!
