| A filthy blend of Black, Death and Thrash Metal make up this collection of Sadistic Grimness' old and new material. Consisting of 6 new tracks as well as all the tracks from their 2 demos, the music on this CD is certainly diverse and shows that this band don't give a fuck about being pinned to a genre, they play whatever the fuck they want and they play it with conviction.
The new material kicks off the CD, and you can hear a real difference from their earlier material, especially in the production. The first track is a full-on, fast-paced assault which has almost a Grind kind of feel to it at times (don't let this put you off!), but contrasts in the middle with a slower Thrashy section. Things take more of a Black/Thrash turn on the next couple of tracks, then continuing with a more typical Black/Death style after that. Yes, I think diverse is certainly a very fitting description!
After that comes the band's "Bleed for the Goat" demo material. This is probably my favourite material, no doubt due to the fact that the demo tape totally blew me away when I bought it a couple of years ago. The production is filthy, the music harsh and violent, and the vocals border on terrifying!! They sound like the screams of a madman! These tracks stick to a kind of barbaric, occasionally Thrash-tinged, violent Black Metal onslaught. The final tracks, taken from the band's first demo, "From Heaven to the Abyss", are along the same kind of lines as the "Bleed for the Goat" material, with the same disgusting production quality and even a couple of earlier versions of tracks featured on the second demo.
To summarise, this whole CD oozes violence, terror and filth! While the demo material stands out most for me, the new material is also a promising sign of what this band has to offer in future.
