Svart Records, who recently reissued the band's classic 12 inch EPs "WC rajahtaa" and "Uskonto on vaara", continue working with the band and bring the new 14-track platter to the world on December 5th. The LP's striking cover art was created by Irish artist Sean Fitzgerald.
Rattus, the Finnish hardcore punk legends, have been delivering their intense and infectious brand of punk since 1980. After a series of impactful releases throughout the '80s and '90s, the band took a break, only to return stronger in 2005 with their self-titled album. Fast forward to 2013, and Rattus unleashed "Turta" (meaning "Numb" in English), an album that embodies the raw energy and fury that fans have come to expect. From the relentless opener "Uskoton" to the closing track "Voimavara viha," "Turta" is a masterclass in hardcore punk, blending unbridled aggression with unexpected melodic touches.
Unlike many bands that reunite to cash in on nostalgia, Rattus delivers with genuine passion and intensity, proving that they still have plenty to say. Their music transcends language barriers, with every track resonating with an authenticity that can be felt as much as heard. "Turta" stands as a testament to the power of true hardcore, offering a fresh and ferocious listening experience. This is the kind of album that reminds listeners why they fell in love with punk in the first place—an adrenaline-fueled journey that leaves a lasting impact.
