Along with Heavy Load, Mercy were the most memorable early pioneers of the Swedish heavy metal scene. With their first releases strongly influenced by NWOBHM, the joining of singer Messiah Marcolin took the band's sound towards heavier and more obscure pastures. Witchburner is the band's only album with the future Candlemass star on vocals, and it is also arguably their heaviest and most doom-influenced. Strongly recommended for anyone into classic 80's doom metal!
