As the erratic pace of splits and compilation released in the past months by Winter Solace Productions winds down to it's spectacular conclusion, the end never looks like the beginning. Rarely does Winter Solace release anything in the realm of traditional black metal, however every now again everything spins back to the where for many of us, this all began. Warrior's Chalice, Von Hexe and Lord Foul are three bands where the ideology is more rooted in Satanism, Darkness and Fire then the usual WS themes. Ritual Invocation of the Arian Satanic Non-Trinity stands as a bulwark against the globalist corrupted religious institutions and weaponized illusion known as the Abrahamic religions. Evoking heavy metal Satanism and ominous Luciferian rituals with black robed figures, this is a side of Winter Solace productions which is rarely seen. Warrior's Chalice carry the old flame of USBM, similar to Lord of Depression, Acheron, Ceremony, Wind of the Black Mountains and Ritual. There previous demo tape "The Ungrateful Blessing" featured a full display of music highly influenced by the Greek sound of Necromantia and Rotting Christ, however this new session seems to flesh that out and firmly roots the bands sound back in the realm of Blackened/Heavy metal. Clean vocals, intricate guitar solos and lively music showcase the real origins of the American Black Metal scene, back to days of Morrisound Recording in sunny Florida, something simply gone from the music scene here today. Von Hexe is a vehicle for the main solo work of M Ahrin V Past (Malefice, Celtic Dance, Graveland and Muruth) playing traditional Italian black metal. While the musical exploits of M Ahrin range from numerous different collaborations with Toby Kanpp to session work as a live drummer at various Italian concerts, his solo works are usually never noticed, relegated to micro-pressings and online releases. The tracks here are the follow up to the Ord-O album (still in limited stock on tape here) and show case a darker more dungeon like style of Italian Black Metal similar to Winged. Portions of this were released on the now sold out split tape "Metaphysics of Will" split tape, released in 2019 by Winter Solace. Lord Foul from Brazil conclude the split with their first new session of material since 2013. Known for playing "RAW BLACK METAL" similar to Sovereign, Warloghe, Haat, Funereal Moon, 1389 and Winterkriege this is the ancient sound of Brazil at it finest. Dark, ominous yet maniacal vocals are complemented by a fury of percussion and slow brooding riffs with proper yet raw production to enhance the atmosphere. As the music of this band slowly takes root, many of the new consumers of this labels releases (who were not around when WS began in 2008) will see the sound that was the foundation for the label today, as Lord Foul holds the distinction of being the longest running member of the Winter Solace roster, with the first release being in 2009.
