Inspired in part by a certain somebody many years ago. I wrote this song back in 2011, before Sabire even had a lineup in Canada. I knew that 'Mistress Mistress' was going to be the second release regardless of what we put out first. The cover photo concept has stayed the same since that day that I thought of it - although the model on the front has changed many times. When I came up with the concept for the 'Mistress Mistress' single back in 2011, I knew that 'Life in the Fast Lane' had to be its counter-part. I was working in a tire shop at the time, and the the radio there only played the station that played the 'super hits of the the sixties and seventies;' FAB 94.3. I found myself singing along to this track countless times, and I remarked to myself that Sabire could do an excellent, 'Sabire-ifyed' version. On top of that, it has a deeper and more personal significance to me - but that is another story. -Scarlett Monastyrski
