Maine-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Skvm Cadaverous (SC) began work for the eponymous solo project Skvm, shortly after the disintegration of a separate black metal project called Morphine. The Skvm mission statement is a simple and straightforward one. Death to oppressors, death to hierarchy, death to Nazi Bastards, and death to false metal. Skvm Cadaverous stands unwavering in these tenants and hopes others will head the call to join in his fight. This release is the debut Skvm album Voidwailer, which takes all the raw, aggressive, and emotional elements that were present on the demo, and raises them all to new heights. Every song on Voidwailer is an expression of a thought or belief held closely by Skvm Cadaverous. From Flailing, a tribute to growth and casting off the weakness of a younger, blinder self, to Revolt, a tribute to the people's revolutions, past, present, and future, and to those who gave their lives fighting to be free of oppression. As the first full-length Skvm album, Voidwailer stands as a powerful benchmark. A bar that Skvm Cadaverous hopes to never stop raising.
