EIKENSKADEN (Mystic Forest) - There Is No Light At The End Of The Tunnel (CD)
France | Black
Detailed Description
Brand new release on CD for December 2005. All new music from MYSTIC FOREST frontman, Stefan Kozak! 8 Songs; 38 minutes. Including full-colour 12-page booklet featuring all lyrics.
Necro-ish Franco-Nordic Black Metal minimalism; comparable to a colder, harsher version of MYSTIC FOREST (less 'romantic', but still melodic), or the French equivalent of ILDJARN with a nostalgic atmosphere. "THERE IS NO LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL" is the most coherent and well-composed recording ever by EIKENSKADEN. It is also the most orthodox oriented by the band. A return to the original Les Legions Noires (Black Legions) style of cult and necro Black Metal that the French Underground has become infamous for.
As a full-on 'concept' album, "THERE IS NO LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL" is depressive, melancholy and morbidly suicidal... Purveying singular-minded themes of solitude, desolation, and despair. Eight songs narrowly verging on insanity, the onset of decay, and ultra-Blackened violence fueled by desperate rage defiant against all things light and optomistic. A sonic journey of personal descent for the dark-hearted and eternally pessimistic; spiral downward now into the abyss...
