Open Door Of Doom is a traditional doom band featuring the members of Australian doom/heavy metal band Eldritch Rites and British singer Craig Capps formerly of The Locked Ward. The album is best described as true traditional doom metal inspired by the likes of Reverend Bizarre, Pagan Altar, Count Raven, Warning, Witchfinder General etc but with ODOD's own take and twist on the genre. Craig approached the boys from Eldritch Rites in late 2014 with the idea of collaborating. Late 2014/early 2015 saw Eldritch Rites writing material for the project before entering the studio with Jay Stark of Home Brew Recording to record. In late 2015 rough mixes were delivered to both Eldritch Rites and Craig. Early 2017 saw Craig and Dave Gilbert of Dark Matter and Minor Planet entering Dave's studio to work on vocal melodies and lyrics and ultimately to track vocal parts before everything was delivered back to Eldritch Rites and Jay. Mid to late 2017 saw Shayne and Jay getting together to record all further guitar parts and some keys before mixing in earnest could begin. Late 2017 to early 2018 was spent in the studio mixing and eventually mastering the project before it would be delivered to Barbarian Wrath to release at the end of March 2018 in a beautifully designed package (devised by Goatess Doomwych). Unfortunately due to label head Hart suffering severe health issues in the last part of 2017 the Open Door Of Doom album would ultimately be the final release of Barbarian Wrath.
