THE RUINS OF BEVERAST - The Thule Grimoires (DIGIPAK CD)
Germany | Black
Detailed Description
The Thule Grimoires marks The Ruins of Beverast’s sixth full-length album, continuing their sonic journey through vast, unholy realms locked in eternal combat against the pestilent trespassers of humankind. Across seven intricate compositions, spectral forces rise, aligning with the indomitable powers of nature to confront their enemies. This album draws listeners deep into familiar TROBesque territory, weaving together their signature monolithic, doom-laden tones with eerie melodic flourishes and surreal soundscapes, creating a sound that is both ominously heavy and hauntingly atmospheric.
Formed in early 2003, The Ruins of Beverast took their name from one of the most chilling events in ancient Mid- and North European eschatology—the collapse of the giant Bifröst bridge. This cataclysm serves as an apt metaphor for the band's musical landscape, one that conjures images of downtuned, desolate terrain and towering, surreal mountain formations. The atmosphere is thick with psychotic, ancient, and undead elements, drenched in unsettling, dark hues. The Ruins of Beverast spin tales of humanity's darkest secrets, both past and present.
Since their inception, the band has released five full-length albums, alongside numerous EPs, splits, and compilations, all through Van Records. Their most recent release, the acclaimed Exuvia LP, arrived in 2017. A new album is set for release in 2020.
As a live entity, The Ruins of Beverast have been an unstoppable force since their unforgettable performance at Roadburn in 2013, a festival they have graced twice with special shows. Since then, they have toured extensively across Europe and the US, playing some of the most renowned club shows and festivals, including Hellfest, Inferno, Incubate, Party.San Open Air, and Beyond The Gates, among many others.
