The mandatory Nihilist compilation "Carnal Leftovers" has been remastered by Magnus Lindberg (Entombed, Imperial State Electric, among others). Nihilist, the ultra-legendary band that later became Entombed, was the first 100% Death Metal band from Sweden. They pioneered the infamous Swedish Death Metal sound that exploded onto the scene in the early '90s with bands like Unleashed, Grave, Dismember, and of course, Entombed. Formed in 1987 by restless teenagers Nicke Andersson (later in Hellacopters and Deathbreath), Alex Hellid (Entombed), and Leif Cuzner, their music was super-charged with brutality and high-quality riffs courtesy of Andersson. Johnny Hedlund (later of Unleashed) and L.G. Petrov (Entombed) were also part of the band. Together with Bathory and Entombed, Nihilist is undoubtedly one of the most influential Swedish metal bands.
Released directly on Entombed's own label, Threeman Records, this compilation is not only a lesson in essential, groundbreaking Death Metal but also a must-have for fiends and collectors of TRUE, CULT METAL!
