Detailed Description
With more than twenty years in the business and eighth full-length albums under the belt, Deranged remains as one of the cult-status Swedish death metal acts around. Formed in 1991 by a couple of bored teens inspired by the bloodiest and most violent bands of the period (such as early Carcass, Napalm Death, Impetigo and Suffocation) and even bloodier horror movies, they started to grind. The early fascination proved to be a particularly long-lasting and fruitful one, with a short break between 2007 and 2009. Deranged is led by drummer Rikard Wermen, the band's mastermind and sole remaining member from the original 1991 line-up.

"Struck By A Muredrous Siege" is the band's first studio album in five years, and their ninth altogether, that was completed at Berno Studio (Amon Amarth, The Crown, Witchery). The cover artwork is a visiual depiction of its title, and it was created by Mike Hrubovcak (Grave, Six Feet Under, Sinister).

Despite of Deranged's roots, their sound is more associated with American death metal rather than the early 90's Swedish death metal scene they originated from, and can be described as technical and brutal death/grind with several groove influences.

The new album is now available for pre-order along with a special compilation release, "Postmortem Rituals", featuring rare demos and & 7" singles (all newly remastered from original DAT tapes). The compilation is available only in physical format. See credits for details.
