Speaking of cult NWOBHM heroes, TORTURE more that fit the description, being one of the early British metal bands that played classic raw hard rock / heavy metal, having released a highly sought after 7" single in 1981 featuring three songs. The band was formed in the late 70's and aside from the single they also recorded a very hard to find demo tape one year before the single (1980). Later on they changed their name to MEAN STREAK and JANUS STARK and after recording a few more songs, they called it quits, leaving behind a more than significant music legacy, waiting to be (re)discovered by today's rock n' metal crowds. We were fortunate enough to get in touch with co-founding members Ray Askew (vocals, guitars) and Clive Robinson (guitars) and we reached an agreement to release their complete music catalog as TORTURE, MEAN STREAK and JANUS STARK. The band was able to unearth great photos, articles and posters from their early days, so be prepared for a killer reissue that will do justice to the raw, powerful music of TORTURE, featuring remastered sound, lyrics, liner notes and previously unreleased songs. The TORTURE reissue will be available on CD, Vinyl and Digital Platforms (iTunes, Spotify etc) and is expected to be out in June 2025. This edition is limited to 400 copies and features remastered sound and 12-page booklet with lyrics, photos and biography.
