HELLS HEADBANGERS is proud to present a remastered reissue of PROFANATICA’s classic debut album, Profanatitas de Domonatia, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
PROFANATICA require no introduction. Cold 'n' alone American black metal before "USBM" became some dumb rallying term, pushing boundaries and "good taste" with vile blasphemy and even-more-vile music, and simply doing whatever the fuck they want, both in their original early '90s guise and their now-intensely-prolific period in the new millennium: there's only ever been one true PROFANATICA.
Bridging those two periods was Profanatitas de Domonatia, PROFANATICA’s LONG-awaited debut album. Though they teased a comeback in 2002 with the crushing Broken Jew 7”, PROFANATICA never had released a full-length prior to their original dissolution in 1992. Then, in 2007 and now linked with original supporters HELLS HEADBANGERS, PROFANATICA arose once again to reclaim their throne with a debut album that honored their past while pushing forward to a dark future that later blossomed into a prolific canon of uncompromising crudity. On Profanatitas de Domonatia, the founding duo of vocalist / drummer Paul Ledney and guitarist John Gelso unloaded ten screeds of elevated primitivism that mocked and mesmerized with equally acrid aplomb. Everything hammered as it did in the early ‘90s, but PROFANATICA here also hinted at doomier, more-molten extremes of their signature sound, proving that a singular vision need not be blinkered by the past. The curious inclusion of programmed drums – which Ledney soon abandoned – only makes this 40-minute monolith that much stranger and more unique.
Now, nearly 20 years since its original release, HELLS HEADBANGERS reissues Profanatitas De Domonatia in remastered form, heightening that crushing crudity with a fuller sound spectrum. Never diluted, PROFANATICA’s monumental debut album scourges again as newer generations discover the foul genius of this legendary band.
