NEW YORK DOLLS - The New York Dolls Live 1974 (CD)
United States | Rock
Detailed Description
When the Dolls appeared in the early 1970s in New York from the underground, including a fulminant debut album, an eruption went through the pop and rock world of the metropolises NY, Paris and London. The band with David Johansen (voc.), Johnny Thunders (lead guitar), Sylvain Sylvain (rhythm guitar), Arthur 'Killer' Kane (bass) and Jerry Nolan (drums) took over their androgyny from Bowie, Jagger and Marc Bolan. Thereto they played dirty rock'n'roll which came along as the bastard of glam and the anarchist noise punk terror of the Stooges. Their live shows should sustainably affect further generations of bands like Hanoi Rocks, Guns n Roses, M-tley Crue and also Sex Pistols. The live recording of Paris 1974, recorded for Radio Luxembourg, reflects the status of the short-living formation in that time very well. The track list of the show includes i.a. the classics 'Personality Crisis', 'Looking For A Kiss', 'Trash', 'Puss' N 'Boots', 'Jet Boy' and 'Give Her A Great Big Kiss'.
