The debut full-length from U.S.-based Trocar, featuring members of FLUIDS, delivers 17 tracks of relentless cybergrind and goregrind. Extremities is a sebum-greased, tooth-grinding, nail-shredding collection of confessions, apologies, and indictments, influenced by AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, REGURGITATE, CATTLE DECAPITATION, EXHUMED, and THE BERZERKER. The album includes guest spots from Frank Albanese and Greg Nottis (HATH), Jamie Stewart (THE ABSENCE, HOT GRAVES), and filmmaker Ryan Twyford-Rigley.
Formed in 2021 by Fluids mastermind Jan Grotle and radio host Schuler Benson, Trocar began as a mix of Regurgitate?s Sickening Bliss and Nailbomb?s Point Blank, but quickly evolved into an eclectic blend of grind, d-beat, industrial metal, and harsh noise. Joined by Fluids producer Walter Hale, the band's early work included their demo Four Forfeit Digits (2022) and single "Wonders Cease," which earned comparisons to Exhumed, Cattle Decapitation, and Godflesh.
In 2023, Trocar released White Room Torture, a split with Detroit's Jesus Wept, and the punk-tinged EP Piecemeal. Now, with Extremities, Trocar cements their place as a force in extreme music, pushing the boundaries of grindcore with precision and intensity.
