Cult early '90s death/grind from Perth, Australia. This 29-track, 76-minute CD compiles their self-titled full-length from 1993 (originally on Ecocentric Records), their self-released 1992 demo, and a handful of unreleased recordings. All tracks have been restored and remastered to present the material as it was originally meant to be: heavy, punishing, and brutal, with their unique style forged when originality still held significant value in the world of extreme music.
Obsessed with real crime and murder, Faces of Death took their name from the classic mondo shockumentary film and reveled in humanity's darkest aspects in the most gruesome fashion, all with an additional dose of that Australian "fuck you" attitude. They occupied a similar space in music and image to Impetigo and Macabre, yet maintained their distinct sound. This is real and unique '90s underground death/grind/thrash perfection for absolute cultists. The band includes ex-members of true underground heroes like Rupture, Nailed Down, and Ultimatum.
