This compilation album showcases the early works of DIABOLIC, a Florida death metal powerhouse. Included are their demo from 1997 and an ultra-rare promo from 1998. Founded in 1996 by bassist/vocalist Paul Ouellette, drummer Aantar Lee Coates, and guitarist Brian Malone, DIABOLIC quickly made a name for themselves in the death metal scene. Their demo "City of the Dead," recorded and released shortly after forming their first complete lineup, garnered significant attention in the underground press. Mastered at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida, by Jim Morris and produced by Lee Harrison, "City of the Dead" showcased DIABOLIC's raw talent.
In 1998, the band recorded a 9-track promo intended for label signings, but it was never officially released. This compilation also includes a special track titled "Lucifer Induced," recorded in 2014 for the vinyl reissue of their debut demo. With a total of 13 tracks, this compilation offers a comprehensive look at DIABOLIC's early career. The package features extensive liner notes by Steven Willem, along with old and rare pictures, posters, and flyers in a 16-page booklet, providing a complete retrospective of DIABOLIC's formative years.
