Detailed Description
In its tenth year, Diabolic Night, led by the enigmatic Heavy Steeler, unveils its second album, marking a defining moment for the solo project and pushing the boundaries of blackened speed metal. Emerging from the crucible of one demo, a 7-inch, and a mini LP, this reclusive musician from North Rhine-Westphalia, the heartland of German heavy metal, introduced his debut full-length, "Beyond the Realm," in late 2019 to resounding critical acclaim, setting the stage for what was yet to come.

"At an early age, I harbored a desire to craft a cohesive narrative set in a fictional realm that immerses the listener from start to finish," Heavy Steeler reveals, emphasizing the escapism over present reality. Thus, "Beneath the Crimson Prophecy" emerges as a thematically enriched successor to its loosely conceptual predecessor, evident in its lavish artwork and photography. It appears we are delving into an ongoing saga: "While the first album provided an external view of the castle and the celestial struggles for dominion, we now venture inside," he elaborates. "Here, the saga unfolds further."

Sonically, Diabolic Night's latest offering dons a slightly darker veneer while retaining the hallmark elements that have defined the multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist. From NWoBHM-infused lead guitar harmonies in tracks like 'Pandemonium' to the infectious melodies of 'Starlit Skies,' and the frosty tremolos reminiscent of early-90s Scandinavia, to the unmistakable breakneck drumming hailing from the mid-80s Ruhr area, each component contributes to the album's distinctive identity.

Yet, an epic undercurrent permeates the album, evident from the irresistibly catchy opener 'Tales Of Past & Mystery' to the grandiose eight-minute finale 'Arktares Has Fallen.' The album's latter half unveils expansive compositions, serving as sleeper tracks that shine brightest, a testament to Heavy Steeler's unwavering vision and the narrative depth of the album.

Recorded across three different studios with trusted collaborator Christhunter and adorned with another captivating cover by Adam Burke (known for his work with Angel Witch and Portrait), "Beneath the Crimson Prophecy" yearns for the live stage, awaiting its performance with Diabolic Night's full ensemble. Having journeyed "Beyond," it's now time to explore what lies "Beneath"...
