After 21 long years, the contagion resurfaces. "Opus(sy) VI," the inaugural Cock And Ball Torture album, now re-issued on CD, adorned with a completely overhauled artwork on an 8-page booklet. This sleaze goregrind classic makes its triumphant return.
Cock and Ball Torture, or CBT, emerged in 1997 as a German pornogrind band founded by three former members of Carnal Tomb. Initially resembling their compatriots Gut, the legendary German grindcore outfit, CBT embraced mid-tempo grindcore marked by pitch-shifted vocals and explicit, adult-themed lyrics. Over time, their style transitioned from pornogrind to brutal death metal.
As a trio, they entered a local studio in early 1997, recording the "Cocktales" promo tape after six months of rehearsals. The tape garnered positive reviews in underground zines. Years later, following various splits and EPs, Shredded Records re-released the tape on CD. Subsequently, their debut CD, "Opus(sy) VI," hit the shelves in 2000 under the same label. The band continued its success with the release of the second full-length, "Sadochismo," in 2002. In 2004, with the third album, "Egoleech," they signaled a departure from their gore/porn image, featuring vocals that occasionally eschewed pitch-shifting to embrace a new direction.
