GLADIATOR - Made Of Pain (CD, Anniversary Edition)
Poland | Speed/Thrash
Detailed Description
GLADIATOR emerged from the Aleksince region of western Slovakia in the late 1980s, eventually releasing their full-length debut Designation in 1992—a rugged blend of thrash metal that balanced speed with crunch. However, it’s their sophomore effort, Made of Pain—originally released in 1993 by Skvrna Records—that is most often hailed by underground metal diehards as the band’s crowning achievement.
Frequently compared to Slayer and especially Sepultura, Made of Pain delivers 37 minutes of tighter, more focused songwriting that remains rooted in the band’s aggressive thrash origins, while also exploring more melodic elements and increasingly sophisticated musicianship. Just one year later, GLADIATOR began shifting toward a grunge-influenced direction, ultimately laying the foundation for their evolution into a major-label rock act that continues to perform today. As such, Made of Pain stands as the final and fiercest expression of GLADIATOR’s metal beginnings.
Unavailable on CD since its original release, Made of Pain has become a highly sought-after rarity, with original copies commanding hundreds of dollars in collector circles. Divebomb Records is proud to present this officially licensed reissue, fully remastered by Jamie King Audio and housed in a 12-page booklet featuring lyrics, archival photos, and more. For the fans, by the fans!
