Well, what should you expect from a band calling itself Black Offal Messiah? Add to that the artwork, which is not a little reminiscent of Profanatica, and you can't really go wrong already. The music of the two tracks on this self-released 7" EP straddles the middle ground between the depravity buzz of Profanatica and the total madness of Havohej's Black Noise. In addition, in terms of production, it resembles the more static and mechanical nature of Black Funeral's "second coming" albums. Due to the horror-drenched and Industrial character, this EP's ambiance actually reminds most of the 'Apokalyptik AIDS' by the obscure Planet AIDS. Definitely not frivolous stuff and only for those who feel as depraved as Paul Ledney's creations. Slow pounding drums, almost unintelligible guitars (no riffs) and heavily distorted vocals serve the listener with completely unmusical cacophony: evil and treacherous, dark and deeply frightening. This is the sort of "music" that needs no reviews, but it needs to be experienced. The horrors of this colossus defy the rules and boundaries of what we call Black Metal, it is droning, it sounds industrial, it sounds ritualistic, but above all it's as black as a haunted night... It is intriguingly nasty.
