Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, JESUS WEPT self-released their debut EP Crushing Apartheid in late-2017, which we re-released as Apartheid Redux with some bonus material in August of 2020. With this EP, the band introduced their brand of sleaze-soaked death metal, or aptly named "LA-Noir Carcass-core" by Transcended Music Blog (DE), to the world. Described by some as "Carcass for the Next Generation", JESUS WEPT's sound harkens back to the Heartwork and Swansong-eras, while also channeling the spirit and attitude of '80s L.A. "Metal". Their Death N' Roll is strong, notably in the groove department, as each riff challenges you to bang your head. Psychedelic Degeneracy is a firm reminder that JESUS WEPT aren't to be taken lightly and that any output from this band is worth multiple spins.
