GRAVEYARD
At last! Following the acclaimed 2008 MCD Into the Mausoleum, Spanish death metal masters GRAVEYARD return with brand-new material. While their debut full-length looms on the horizon, GRAVEYARD now joins the ranks of the Nuclear War Now! horde, unleashing a split vinyl with the crushing German/American force known as DEATHEVOKATION.
Unbothered by trends or the shifting tides of the extreme metal scene over the past 15 years, GRAVEYARD remains firmly rooted in the tradition of those who forged death metal in fire. Their sound and spirit pay homage to legends like ASPHYX, CARNAGE, ENTOMBED, FUNEBRE, CELTIC FROST, AUTOPSY, BOLT THROWER, and EDGE OF SANITY—bands whose influence pulses through every riff and rhythm. GRAVEYARD stands as a testament to what death metal was meant to be: raw, brutal, dark, and evil. This is not retro nostalgia—it’s a reaffirmation of what real death metal has always been.
DEATHEVOKATION
Since emerging in 2005, California's best-kept secret DEATHEVOKATION has embodied the true essence of old-school death metal. Following a string of underground releases, they dropped one of the most revered death metal albums of the past two decades—The Chalice of Ages (2007)—an instant classic drenched in atmosphere and power.
DEATHEVOKATION’s sound fuses mid-tempo mastery and bleak melodic passages with a high-caliber production rarely matched in the genre. The name alone may conjure thoughts of CARNAGE or DISMEMBER, but the deeper DNA includes the thunderous legacy of BOLT THROWER, MORGOTH, and MASSACRE.
Their contribution to this split with GRAVEYARD is nothing short of stellar—a fierce offering to tide fans over while we await their long-anticipated second full-length. This is death metal with soul, integrity, and a deep respect for the roots. |
