The fifteen album of Countess, except nothing but their own trademark style of cult heavy/black metal. Ten tracks, almost one hour of metal only Countess creates. Some tracks continue in the traditional epic heavy metal style of "Ancient lies and battle cries", other tracks are odes to times long past, times of the first wave Dutch black metal. What is different on this album though, is that it's the first album in 23 (years to feature a real drummer again, not counting the 1997 mini. It makes Countess sound like a complete band which they currently only were able to sound like on their live shows. It is also the first Countess record in a decade to feature several songs in Dutch again. In 2014 the band returned to the stage after a long absence, delivering impressive performances at a selection of prestigious metal festivals all over Europe. Now the band is back with "Fires of destiny," hail the Countess! The cover is a painting that depicts the Battle of Vienna in 1683.
