Christian Death -Ashes, diligently restored original master and artwork done by a surviving member, Kand. He carefully enhanced the sound by remastering keeping the Goth Essential's integrity untouched. Kand's lyrical images of ill religion, twisted sex, mental illness and mystic rites are ritual and well matched by the music. It's aggressive power is tempered by a huge theatricality that works, almost in spite of itself.
