This is some of the best atmospheric black metal I have heard in a while. Had to get that out of the way.
Very atmospheric and gloomy, yet the audio production on this offering is great. Nothing muds anything else out. Guitars are distorted but not to the point of just washing the tracks in a wall of noise. The drums are clear, though nestled a little further back in the mix. Vocal range is impressive for this style of music, and cuts through the mix well.
This is a release that is hard to describe. It has its moments of slower, more ponderous experimentation, but also has more easily recognized elements as well...but never drops the overall feeling or mood. Overall excellent release. Grab yours while its still available!
