Formed in 1995, BEWITCHED emerged as a devilishly fun side project featuring former members of Katatonia, Naglfar, and Ancient Wisdom from Sweden. With their debut album in 1996 and over the next decade, the band found themselves at the forefront of the growing blackthrash movement that gained momentum in the '90s.
Originally unleashed in 1997, "Pentagram Prayer" marked BEWITCHED's transformation into a power trio, featuring the enduring duo of vocalist/guitarist Vargher and bassist Wrathyr, now joined by the enigmatic drummer Reaper, who would later part ways after this album. "Pentagram Prayer" follows the footsteps of their acclaimed "Diabolical Desecration" from the previous year, boasting an even more resolute rock 'n' roll approach while retaining their signature thrashy edge. As a result, many regard this album as BEWITCHED's finest work!
