Airspeed was an Italian band active since 1980, created by bassist Andrea Castelli, known as talented musician also in Shabby Trick, Cappanera and Mantra and featuring on vocals Morby, before he left to join Sabotage, and later also Domine and Labyrinth. The band is focused to play heavy metal in the veins of NWOBHM, Judas Priest, Motorhead powered by Morby's mighty voice. In 1983 they recorded their first demo tape, 5 tracks as an exciting mix between Judas Priest and Loudness. This demo was pretty appreciated in the underground scene and the Airspeed name circulated quickly on Italian and also European fanzines. In summer 1983 Morby left the band to join Sabotage and Airspeed moved their sound towards more progressive sound. The new vocalist was Nicola Costanti also on keyboards and in 1985 they recorded a new 4 tracks demo. This issue includes both demos, on Cd (and Lp) for the first time , with a remastered sound. A great testimony of 80's Italian HM scene, when sound and music were surely different from today's music and maybe also childlike, but surely more sincere and passionate.
